I love using patchbays.
I have the Samson S-patch plus. I have one for my hardware synths+rack synths. I use it “normal” mode, and have the synth output on top, the interface inputs on bottom.
I also use the same model with an effects rack. This one I have points for the interface IN and OUT (stereo), then the effects input and output.
