I received a replacement DT back today and was checking to see if everything is right but there is something that I thought was part of my missing memory problem that seems to exist in a new machine as well. I made a post some time back asking this same question but with no response so I will try again.
Could someone with a Digitakt please have a look at pattern B14 of the locked presets and tell me if track 8 has a sample loaded, on my old and new machines it is missing, which is exactly the same problem I am having across many of my projects with missing samples, thanks.
no sample loaded on track 8 here, it’s assigned to slot 114 which is empty

That is really strange as the behaviour with the sample loaded to an empty slot is exactly the same as the progressive loss of samples that I was experiencing across my projects, sample disappears and occupies an empty slot somewhere at the end of the list.
I dont suppose you have noticed any samples disappearing from your projects?.
fortunately, i’ve not noticed samples disappearing here.
in your example, it doesn’t look like a sample is missing, it’s just referencing the wrong slot.
there are 81 samples in the project with no empty slots until 82 onwards, and this track references slot 114. it’s probably just an oversight in the presets.
this isn’t to say you haven’t found a legit issue - but my guess is this is not an example of it.
have you found a reproducible scenario that shows missing samples? happy to experiment here if you need any confirmation…

The thing is over the past 8 months recorded samples were disappearing on a regular basis across most projects and the empty slot behaviour is the same, which was why I assumed the preset project was effected too. There was one particular melodic sample that i knew well enough to miss, I went through the entire +drive looking for it (wondering if it had moved) but it was definitely gone.
