A custom 8 track stereo looper/sampler and mixer

Built with Intech Grid and Raspberry Pi.
I’ve built this because I have tried so many loopers and none of them do enough without a complicated interface. I love loopers but I think the biggest issue is mixing properly, re-recording, removing, and filtering layers. This looper fixes that by adding an individual channel per loop, with dedicated controls.

Here is the list of features:

  • 8 tracks, each can record and overdub.
  • Loops are quantize to the first loop but can have different lengths.
  • LED feedback indicating rec/dub/play status per track.
  • Reverb and delay sends per track.
  • HP/LP per track.
  • Volume and pan per track.
  • A/B scenes + crossfader, hold the alt button and tweak a parameter, Octatrack style.
  • Solo and clear a track.
  • Undo and redo per track.
  • Overdub recording feedback level.
  • Metronome.
  • Reverb size and decay.
  • Delay time divisions and feedback level.
  • Midi out port for clock and transport.
  • Stereo in and out.

I’m considering building this with custom hardware but I have no idea where to start, if anyone has experience with this please let me know.

Very cool! I do a lot of live looping and the tools are never quite what I think I want.

Very cool! Great use of the InTech stuff
