The TB-303 solo is the hair metal of electronic music, and should have died an unceremonious death in the 90’s. I’m sure it expanded your consciousness back then… but come on.
The TR-909 hihat was a shitty sample then and is shitty now. Has been ruining otherwise epic techno for decades.
Gratuitous swing percentages on beats is a gimmicky contrivance that makes nearly all House and other dependent genres nearly unlistenable. Let machines sound like machines already.
I realize that few people will share these opinions. Let’s hear yours!
hair metal is awesome, and like disco it gets a mostly undeserved bad rap from normies. I say mostly because like disco, there are plenty of trend-chasing mediocre bands of the era.
here’s mine: kalimbas are cringy trash that represent the enshitification of experimental and electronic music. A perfect manifestation of the overly precious youtube plinky lil bloopy nonsense.
sorry i love you all! im just being silly. But i do believe everything i just said.
909 hi hats are indeed a curse. However, squarepisher doing 303 acid break insanity never gets old to me even if he’s not using a 303. There’s still room in that thing for people to do something interesting with it now and then.
I can’t be arsed with the new boards of Canada album. It’s boring.
Everyone talking about it is boring.
All the videos about where the samples on it are from are boring.
All the people talking about how dark it is are boring.
Bunch of boring bastards.
I think 99% of people are too fragile to admit how shit they are to themselves, so project it on to everything around them, and this is how internet forums were born.
