303 patches

Any tips for a good 303 patch ? If you have good ones and don’t mind sharing i’d be thankful !

yeah I’ve struggled to get anything

a couple have been okay but not worth posting

I need to dig a lot more

Set oscillator 1 to feedback, at a level of maybe 30-40. Turn up the resonance on filter one with a light positive overdrive, maybe 15%…those two will get you into the ballpark pretty quickly. Also, don’t play too high, the 303 character only comes out in the lower octaves, it is a bass machine after all.

Trap wave with a -20 PWM, or Sawtooth.
Use Filter 2 in LP2 mode.
VCA EG; A. 0 D. Roughly 3 seconds. S. 0 R. 0
VCF EG: A. 0 D. to taste S. 0 R. 0

Use only the cutoff, resonance, VCF env amt and decay. Don’t forget the accents and slides. Set portamento amount in VCO 2 page 2 to around 16.

Osc 1 FB level 20-40
Osc 2 trp with pw at -20 (square-sound) OR Osc 2 tri with pw at either extreme for a saw-sound. (Better saw than oscsetting ‘saw’ imho)

Use F1 with reso around 70-80 env depth around 20, overdrive -5 to -10

Filt env: a0 d20-50 s0 r20

Amp env a0 d0 sfull r20
