i got a reasonably priced tb303, needs a service, later model, sounds ace, has had a tiny hole drilled in the front panel for easy trim pot adjustment, yay, using it with tr606 as master sending 606 output into 303 - hours of fun
May I ask what is âreasonably pricedâ in 2026?
looking for a pedal to pair with my TB-03⌠some kind of multi-effect with delay/reverb and distortion. other stuff would be a nice bonus.
i saw that Endorphin.esâ latest firmware update for their Ghost pedal has some tweaks tailored for 303-ish synths⌠seems like it could be a good option, but aside from their video for the new firmware, i couldnât find any videos of anyone giving it a good acid workout.
are there any other comparable pedals worth having a look into?
Main thing will be finding something that plays well with line level, many pedals are intended for high impedance instrument level - sometimes that doesnât matter too much, sometimes it does. Overdrive/distortion especially would have a different character with a hot input as youâre pushing it quite hard.
In addition to a Ghost, which is a great choice for a one stop shop - Iâd highly recommend a Zoom MS70 CDR - which canât really be beat for bang for buck - but you do sacrifice the one knob per function aspect of the ghost.
yea i did see the zoom mentioned upstream in the thread, but i shouldâve specified that iâm after something more playable live, knobs etc.
I think the ghost is a great choice - none of the effects are show-stoppers but you could hit 4x the price if you bought standalone effects to do the same job.
My other recommendation would be one of those fairly budget âdo it allâ guitar pedals from the likes of Nux and Amazon-friendly brands but unless youâre trying to save cash then the Ghost will be better.
If you wanted to push the budget then a used HX Stomp would give you a lot more flexibility and the effects are very nice.
Still has the drawback of not being knob per function but is better than a CDR.
Get a better tutor.
Sidechaining is annoying shite at the best of times, on acid lines it is like putting a graffitti tag on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, pointless vandalism.
A Re-Amping Pedal can also help if you feel like your Signal is too hot for the Pedal youâve chosen.
I have the Zoom MS70-CDR itâs alright, I donât think Iâve ever got deep enough into it past using it very occasionally, however if you just want something quick Iâd recommend it as itâs lot for your money. However if youâre willing to spend more Iâd always reccomend something by Boss/Roland for delay and modulation though.
Honestly the best distortion Iâve found though is the strymon riverside, that thing sounds incredible on a 303.
SuperOS for the 303.
Holy moly.
Definitely getting one OS-303 processor for my (future) RE-303 build.
Iâve been using my TD-3-Mo and want another clone to play with.
Dusted the old x0xb0x off today for a bit of slow acid
Back to the roots!
Is 64 day a thing?!?!
Super cool.
Bonus points for just walking away ![]()
Nice, I did not know that the SID chip can can sound that good. For those interested, itâs the BASSLINE app that comes with the MSSIAH cartridge.
Apparently you can even add up to 4 knobs for realtime-tweaking, MSSIAH apps support the paddle inputs. Itâs really simple to wire this up, all it takes is two 9-pin sub-d plugs, and 4 pots. I see you have something sketchy connected to your joystick port, so youâre probably already aware how to do that ![]()
Yeah, would be fun to try those four potentiometers!
Not sure Iâll make the mod though, as they connect directly to he SID which is easily fried. And some of those registers are only three and four bits, not the greatest range of values for analog control. ![]()
These are the normal c64 the paddle inputs], it is well documented how they work and what you need to add:
You mean the registers that control the sound parameters?
You can see it in action, here
