Hello everyone. I would like to purchase a second groovebox to use in combo with the Electribe 2 blue synth for hiphop / trap / drill / urban music. Preferred options are: Elektron model cycles, model samples, Roland MC-101. Model cycles: I know it sounds good, but I don’t know if the FM sounds can be useful to me, besides I don’t know the FM synthesis even if I know that on the MC it is simplified. model samples: loading from pc is not convincing (the elektron app on the European Apple store is not available) and the space limit to archive them, also playing chords means losing 2 or more tracks Roland MC-101: it is another type of gear, thousands of ready sounds, I am not convinced by the few controls available for manipulation, many shortcuts and submenus. Novation Circuit I don’t think it would interest me especially the lack of a reference screen.
Korg Electribe2sampler with a 2 channel show mixer in between.
For the sub $400 dollar range the Elektron cycles is looking good.
For the $500-700-ish range the BlackBox, Sp404mk2, and TR8s is looking good.
From there the MPC one is nice. Digitakt or Digitone.
After that DigiKeys and MC707.
