2500ma AC adapter on OT?

I forgot my OT AC adapter at home.

I have here a high quality 6v 2500 ma AC adapter.

I tested it and all works ok, the AC doesn’t get hot, etc.

Is there some hazard on using this AC adapter with my OT till I back home.

Not sure what mA rating is on the OT PS but as long as the one you have is greater than it you have nothing to worry about… The OT will only draw as many mA as required… If it is rated less then you have issues as in it may not work and possible burnout of external PS…

The OT one is rated at 3A, I’d hope that Elektron had a bit of a factor of safety on that, but only they can probably answer for you. Use it with a 2amp fuse, if you can find such a thing to cover yourself, or a 1amp fuse, it might blow, but worth it for peace of mind to try it out

By the looks of it you are actually in a relatively safe place (don’t take my word for it) but the manual states the typical wattage is 8 and max is 18, so your psu should be good to 15w, use it at your own discretion, but I’d be happy at that margin ! Obviously it doesn’t look like a 1w fuse would last, so scrap that idea , 2A fuse would be great, but maybe not for a gig

Is not for a GIG, I´ll get mine on time for the GiG.
By the way, the fuse you are talking about, is there a fuse inside the OT or I should implement it on the AC adapter to OT cable.

In the UK there are easily swappable fuses in the plug that connects between the wall and the OT power supply, so it’d be easy, although common fuses are 1A 3A 5A and 13A, in Europe the corresponding cable does not have a fuse although there could be fuses in power extension sockets for example, not sure what is possible in your part of the world, but I wasn’t thinking of anything inside the OT or the official OT psu, just the cable or extension connecting you to the mains. Something to keep you under 2A to keep your temp psu from getting hot (or worse) although according to the manual you would normally only draw 1300ma or so. It sounds like you’ll be fine, a fuse is just a way to protect the psu from becoming an issue. Don’t take my word, but it looks cool to carry on as you are : )
