2023 Reverb Pedal for Lush Ambience

Vongon ultrasheer

Way cheaper than the other options yet so good: Digitech Polara.

All time faves are the Quadraverb and Midiverb II, and 90’s Lexicon… as far as modern (and reliable) options go I’d say Mercury 7 and Blackhole/Space/H90. Specular Tempus and Empress sound nice in demos too.

I got a Mood mkII recently and I love it. The reverb can be as clean and pristine or dark and crunchy as I like. Not to mention the other modes it has and the way that they interact with each other.

I’ve got both a Big Sky, and H9. Both are really nice and lush. Especially the Big Sky.
Plugin wise, you can’t go wrong with Raum. It’s my go to verb plugin, and I’ve got a lot of them.

I‘ll +1 the Meris Mercury X. Phenomenal reverb algos.

I dream of Valhalla’s reverbs in a pedal.

kind of lame recommendation but strymon bluesky really does the trick for lush ambience, the magneto mode is my fav, its very versatile!

empress reverb also very good: i have this in physical form, and the bluesky as a plugin (owned physical though)

aaalso not really a reverb pedal but soma cosmos is perfect to make some lush ambiences. its like a looper with a mind of its own and a blur function, which creates texture out of anything, but still makes them retain character+ some rhythm, you can reverse and make different layers you play into it interlock in different ways. i made ambient tracks just with this thing and some random samples. highly recommended if youre looking for something weird and i could see this as a good fit for your use case, check out some demos!

New sloer is amazing.
+1 Rooms also!

Neunaber Wet in any of its version is just great.

But I’m all in on Eventide—Space, H9 or H90 all have the same algos (for now).

I’ve had one for a few years. I’ll probably never sell it, it’s so good. It stands toe to toe with most of the ones mentioned so far.

Exactly. And for a fraction of the price.
