HITS:

  1. Studio Electronics SE-3X
I fell in love with the sound of this instrument when I heard the first demo on YouTube. I am glad that I have access to this instrument on a daily basis at home.
  2. Roland SH-01A, SE-02, and JX-08
Until I bought the SH-01A, I avoided the ‘boutiques’ from Roland. Now I have three, and I’m so happy with sounds and possibilites of these tiny boxes.
  3. MAM FB383
Fantastic sound, no unnecessary features, or sequencer, and it’s in rack format.
  4. OTO BIM, and BAM
I have had many effects and I am most pleased with these ones.
  5. Dreadbox Raindrops
When I use this effect, a smile appears on my face.

MISSES:

  1. Typhon Dreadbox
Unfortunately, I don’t like it. To much menu diving. Also, it’s a USB powered device, so I can hear some noises I don’t want (some people don’t mind). I want to sell it to make room for something else.
  2. Behringer TD-3-MO
It takes up too much space and had features I didn’t need - including a sequencer.
  3. Behringer Crave
At some point, he turned out to be redundant. The fascination faded very quickly. Loved by many, but overhyped in my opinion.
  4. Teenage Engineering OP-1
My stupidity. Overrated, overpriced box. Totally useless for my use case. I tried to force myself to like him, but it didn’t work out.
  5. Pioneer RMX 1000
At first I liked it, but after a while I came to the conclusion that the quality of the effects, the size of the device, and the price are unacceptable.
  6. Erica Synths Zen Delay
I don’t know what people see in this box. Solidly built, nice looking, but not quite sounding as it should, I was hoping that for this price I would be more satisfied. At one point I got so annoyed with using this effect that I turned it off and never turned it on again.
  7. SOMA LABORATORY LYRA-8
For some time I was very excited, later it turned out that it was not a well-thought-out purchase, because it totally does not match my use case and style.
