How do I set the GRID when it only goes from 8 to 16 slices?
All my other sample chains are 16 slices so it works fine.
Do I just set to 16 anyway?
Any advice is appreciated.
You could resample it to add silence (or 4 more samples) to the end, then use the first 12 of the 16 grid slots (or all of them).

If the integrity of the original sample is important it would be best to add the silence in your daw, if having the original sample normalized upon resampling won’t matter then you could do it all onboard the DT.

You can also add the first four at the end, with different pitch or add other samples…
(12 + 4).
I’d use 16 slices rather than 12 + silence. You can playback them as you wish.

Partially related, on Digitakt in the pre slice days (< V1.50), I used to do sample chains with 30, or 15, 10 or 6…reason being on SRC page you can increase the samples start point by increments of 4 by pressing & turning the knob.
e.g.: start 120 / 4 = 30 sample slices
120 / 8 = 15
120 / 20 = 10
etc…you get the idea.
