1010music Bluebox

I’ve tried testing it.
My mpc recognizes the bluebox but if i confirm the settings, my mpc gives an error and goes back to the internal ins and outs of the mpc.
So no succes yet.

Blackbox is more appropriate for this specific purpose, albeit also only with a single physical input. If you need both mixer and sample player, have a look at the combo Bluebox+Tangerine.

Thanks mate, sounds like a good option. Hadn’t thought of having it end of chain but routing back in.

Congrats to 1010 Music for enabling this feature on their fine little mixer. Glad it’s finally out in the wild. It may be time to consider this mixer for my setup.

It’s my go-to these days. I record, mix and master on it. It sounds great.

With the new firmware, I was a little worried it was going to be a bit “noisy” on a powered hub as it always has been, but am I losing my mind or did this update improved the usb noise floor when plugged in and powered on a hub?

I’m really impressed. I always used it with a dedicated power supply to avoid noise but to test the audio I slapped it right on into my powered hub and I swear it’s behaving very respectfully. Is this some weird placebo effect? If not amazing work by 1010.

Yes, Blue Box is a great thing. Lifesaver! Mixer with sends and recorder in one small, lightweight package with great sound. And after recording, you can immediately listen to what you played there and even play with effects on the recorded material. I didn’t even think that I would get used to it in one day. At first it seemed to me that it somehow didn’t sound like analog Mackie and I was even a little upset, but the next day I even began to like it. Another convenient thing is that it works as a USB host - I have a faderfox ec4 connected to it, from which it is powered and controls it via USB. And the trs midi output from faderdox already goes to other devices.

Love my Bluebox and this USB update was a very pleasant surprise! Recently got a Livid DS1 midi controller second hand and it is so good - maps really well, 5 auxes - 2 on internal fx and 3 on sends to pedals, can record some fun jams! The lack of vol curve on the fader is annoying so all the sound is in the last third of the fader travel, but if they can fix that in some way we are rocking!

Nice find - these were legendary!

I’ve tried looking for it but couldn’t find it anywhere…can the fx movements be recorded?

I like tweaking the delay while playing and the octave jumps it makes. Can that be motion recorded in the blue box? Or just a static fx recording?

Only audio recording. Use a elektron device to record/replay midi data

Anyone knows if it’s possible to stream audio channels of digitakt or syntakt to the bluebox over Usb? Would be brilliant… Extra eq, Reverb, delay per channel, extra routing with an fx loop,…
I know it’s possible on the iPad (drambo), but syntakt and bluebox with an extra midi controller would make for a very powerful setup!

well that would require Elektron to make their devices transmit USB audio (instead of just proprietary Overbridge). but i guess we can keep hoping . . .

I thought I read someone had managed to have separate audio channels in drambo, must have misunderstood then… My syntakt is on the way, will be plenty of fun with just a stereo out, but let’s hope we’ll get audio over Usb later, would be great with my bluebox or with drambo…

Digitakt, Digitone, Syntakt, Analog Heats, model:samples/cycles all support class compliant audio over USB (2in/2out), you only need overbridge to use multi-track audio (for the overbridge supported devices).

which, with a bluebox, would be the whole point of running USB audio into it from my digitone. otherwise might as well just send the main 1/4" outs into two of the analog audio inputs
