1010music Bento

pricey at a grand. gonna need to get used to seeing that number before I can give it an honest look.

seems like a very logical direction for 1010, especially the battery.

I was offered one a few weeks ago, but turned it down. Not because it didn’t look awesome, but because I’m not much in my music space now.

Honestly, pretty pleasantly surprised at the prices, might be an instant buy for me. (Although I say this as someone who bought an OP-XY and isn’t super happy with the handling of live audio / ability to live loop).

I am slightly worried about things being buggy at launch though, that would be my main hesitation.

Watched Loopop…only 4 sequences per track? Pretty weak if that is the case. Like a battery but kind of meh to me. I need a lot better sequencer instead of better sampling…but that’s just for my use case.

$899 on Perfect Circuit.

If they ever make a bluebox with this sort of form factor, I’d be tempted, NGL

Bluebox would be the bees knees if it just had a more tactile UI without having to resort to using MIDI controllers

This looks like a way better companion to a DNII in comparison to the DTII. There’s a bit less siund design capabilities but sample playback modes and poliphony is way on top, so paring it woth some MIDI tracks from elektron to get parameter locking makes it great.

Ps. Plus 250 usd cheaper in the us.

Heck ya!

With 8 Mixer Sliders and 3 Knobs per Mixing Track…it would be too good.

I’ll second that. They ought to bug fix their existing products rather than abandoning them and moving on to the next earner. Instead they evade, deny or tell people they are wrong for wanting basic facilities that have been industry standards for decades.

I’m with you - I wish I didn’t like their stuff, but I’m over it until they get their shit together, no way will I buy this given their history.

Contrast how they act with Dirtywave …

BTW im interested to hear what you did with the Razzmatazz, do you have anything up online?

is this the 1010 product ive been waitin for all my life?

oh no way! it has scenes. need this immediately

also allows me to leave my launchpad at home. i think theyve been actually listening to my survey responses

lemondrop, bluebox, blackbox, and nanos combined in one with an akai-force style sequencer? thats crazy

how is everyone not freaking out about this? i cant think of a more exciting portable song creation machine
*(oh i see, its all in the blackbox thread)

this is a shame

i skimmed this thread looking for your opinion before reading anything or even watching the loopop video

Oh dear, cue another cycle of software releases that fix one thing & break another, coupled with obnoxious, rude support when you complain about bugs.

I am very flattered by this  but I don’t expect to review this or any other kit soon, or ever at all again maybe.

Anyone have details on how Audio over USB is handled?

Is it Stereo, or is it Multi-Tracked?

Cheers!

I hope sequences get increased from 4.
But, the granular synth has me interested.

On the fence.

I will be the negative nancy on this one. Seems there is a lot missing and a lot of assumptions on firmware updates for a $900 device. You cant preview samples, you cant auto sample or multi sample on the device, lack of audio tracks so far, etc. If they can nail those it looks pretty cool, but the sequencer also looks a little bare bones. Overall it looks fun and I am a groove box whore, so I will prob buy one…but I do wonder why they didnt let it cook in the kitchen a bit more before announcing. Seems a lot of features are still in beta and not ready to show

i would probably buy a blackbox with a mixer, granulr, and clip sequencing/scene launching for $1000. i dont need them to add anything to this

I have this thought really frequently, to be honest - and not just about Music hardware.

This thing looks really cool. I don’t need it, but I’m happy it exists.

Iā€˜m considering moving to a smaller and portable groovebox thatā€˜s sequencer based over the next months. To play around with but also potentially write songs or song sketches. Not the biggest sample fan, like the way Elektron sequencers work (without excessive plocking). Should I look deeper into what this thing can do?
