What do you already have? What music do you make? You can get a nice weird little vintage mixer for that which would do lovely things to basidally anything you run through it.

If you don’t have one, a spring reverb tank can be had for as little as £20-25 and fed either from a mixer or directly in your interface (it’ll need the signal boosting and you’ll have to use some EQ and gating to limit the noise if you go for the latter option)

There are loads of odd old pieces of gear you can get for very little. I have a Zoom 1201 multi-effects unit that does all kinds of odd stuff - again, paid £20-25 for it.

Alternatively, the Zoom MS pedals can be had for under £100 and they’re excellent entertainment for sound mangling
