Honestly, that’s a lot of money. Personally, I got a new teenage engineering KOII and used Modal SkulptSE for 500€. And I think that’s a great addition to a DAW setup.
For 1000, I would get a used Octatrack MkI and Waldorf Blofeld. But I think both are overkill if you have a DAW with it and want hardware for its interface and immediacy.
with that budget i’d use Ableton for sampling and blow the thousand on one really nice analog synth, something Sequential, Moog, Korg, Arp.
if you’re dead set on a hardware sampler the Digitakt would be a no-brainer for me, great workflow and makes everything sound good. then spend the remainder on something like a Bass Station 2 or one of the Behringer clones (Pro 1, Model D)
You don’t need to limit yourself to Synths you can get Synth samples from a load of places.
As EZ bot says a Sampler is all you need. Instead why not get a good Field recorder for Unique Sounds never used before? You will have a load of fun i’m sure. Looking for a Synth is limiting you.
So get a second hand OT and a good field recorder is my advice.
For integration and flexibility, I like digitakt and digitone. It’s an old, tired horse but I’ll still ride it considering OB and budget. You’ll have to shop tight, but it can be done for that price.
If it was me I’d use Live as the sampler and pump everything into an analog synth you like the sound of.
Probably a mono but you might get a used Take 5 for around the budget depending on where you live, that’d complement Live really well and make for a nice controller.
…i’d also say…push3…get’s u the most hw hands on benefits totally intertwined with what u already got…would not add any more confusion to ur sonic cake…the more focus and the deeper u work with what u got, the better…
u don’t really need a hw sampler…and for sure no further hw synth options…u got it all in front of u already…so just add the most flexible truu hw hi end controler, that’s perfectly suited to handle in tactile hw fashion all what’s there to be still discovered…
plus the option, to uprade this device at any point later in life, to a full fledged stand alone unit…
it really covers it all…
take the step to ableton 12 plus push 3, that’s round about one grant and never look back…
