1 foot midi cable for connecting MKI A4 and MKI AR?

I’ve had an AR for little while and just received an A4. I’m working with a really small desk space and would love to minimize cable management - is a 1 foot midi cable enough to connect these two devices or do I need a 3 foot cable?

If they’re flush side by side 1 foot will suffice.

If you are using a tiered stand you may need longer than a foot.

I think a 1 foot cable would just barely make it, it might not.
Each box is about 13 inches so it’ll be close.
I do use 1 foot cables to plug audio in from the AR and A4 into the OT, and they are exactly long enough

I’d probably err on the side of cable slack so as to not risk jack damage.

FWIW I just bought some new MIDI cables for connecting elektrons side by side in a daisy-chained fashion. I found the 60cm cables to be just about perfect, not too short but only a slight slack… So is that 2 feet in imoerials?
