Y'all know a source of good shaker and tambourine loops?

I always like throwing in a good shaker or tambourine, but my samples there are lackluster. I don’t have a decent sounding tambourine to record and let’s be honest, who has time to set up a microphone and record a shaker? I mean really.

So I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations. I’m of course willing to buy them whatever they may be…But I would like an extensive list of varying BPM, varying texture/coarseness/softness, varying time signatures, and varying accents (2 and 4, 3, offbeats, etc). Figured you guys might have some ideas?

Thanks!

Er, I did… I went through my pantry and made a folder of shaker loops from the various cool sounding jars of shakey stuff found there (mustard seeds, fenugreek, salt, rich and varied textures and timbres) Set up a mic and recorded some loops at Tempos I like.
Tambourine samples, yeah I dont own one anymore either since some nutbag stole mine (who steals a tambourine?!) Anyway, if you have ableton there are some free samples in there. Chop them up to get the rhythm you like, reverb, done!

Yeah I said that tongue-in-cheekedly :stuck_out_tongue: I used to record shakers and tambourines for projects but I also don’t have the best mic or equipment. High quality loops would just be easier and more straight forward for my workflow.

I don’t have Ableton  I got Studio One and the loops for shakers and tambourines in there are decent but not comprehensive. I’d honestly pay like 20 or 30 bucks for a pack of hundreds of loops that are just shakers and tambourines with varying attributes.

there’s a few free things that might be useful

Or you could hunt for a second hand SM57 and record your own… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

https://noisefirm.com/product/complete-shaker-and-tambourine/ this too but it’s a little pricier than free

Not a sample library but for this type of stuff I like to use Drumjam iOS app. Has all the perc you need with multiple rhythms that you can build into a loop.

Omnisphere is the best source for these types of instruments imo

This one is a must have too
