Where did good sample/loop packs go?

Elektronauts,

What happened to good quality loop & sample packs!?

I am currently using Splice for finding samples and then I have a few preferred labels e.g. Origin Sound, Audiotent etc. However, I do find that I have to dig quite deep for decent samples. I make House/Techno and a lot of the samples I find aren’t very good…they all have this feel/quality about them that you know they’re from a loop/sample pack. The sound I commonly come across is this commercialised deep-house/tech-house jackin’ type sound… the shitty stuff you hear on Radio 1 by like Danny Howard (sorry to offend those who like this).

So my question to you…where do you go to find quality loops and samples?!

Thanks in advance.

Why not just make some? I think it’s because a lot of people who use loop packs are dudes that hear stuff in the radio and want to drag and drop their own cheesy banger. Just grab a synth and go nuts, you’re taking half the fun out of it by using loops

I know pal, but I’m using the Octatrack and would love some decent loops to chop up. There are some times of beats that I couldn’t create well myself…namely in the style of jazz, or perhaps breaks, or even in the style of Bonobo.

Oh got it, Check reddit.com/r/drumkits

Sort by top of all time, search breaks. Would you happen to be Charlie broadhead from Coventry?

Will do, thanks dude. Not just for drums, but also for things like synths etc, or pads.
Samples from Mars is a good’un too & yeah I am from Coventry, why so haha?

Did you go to H of E?

Dollar bin records. Trust me. There are gems inside of shitty records.

Indeed. DM me…

Thanks mate
