Using the Heat as an insert/aux?

I’m using the Heat as the last device in the chain after the mixer, and then into my soundcard to beef things up. How do I plug it into the mixer? Is it worth it? How do I do it? I need some advice

I’ve got OT, DT and a couple of synths connected into a Yamaha MGP16X atm.

Aux sends into overdrives or filters can get a bit tricky with the levels. Sometimes there’s even some phasing. Best to have the “full” signal running through non-time-based (?) effects.
How you do that depends on the mixer you have, I guess. I used the Alt 3/4 outs of my small Mackie to have a group running through some overdrive.

You have a few options…personally I do something similar to you for reasons Lauli states above.

I have the Yamaha MG12xu mixer & have the group outs of the mixer going into the Analog Heat, then the outs of the Analog Heat are ready to go into any of my samplers. That way I can sample thru the Analog Heat if I want & can also use it on the master.
