Tats from Korg Granular Convolver!

Looks interesting! Cool looking hardware collaboration between Tats of Volca fame, Maximilian Rest of E-RM, and Christoph Hohnerlein

More money I have to find?:face_vomiting:

I did listen for a while , it’s very limited release , didn’t sound particularly innovative
I wouldn’t start saving if I were you , .

From what I can gather it is a different approach to the google one - it will be interesting to hear more for sure.

I dont get it. What does this thing do? Seem just a pitch Analytics Tool that applies the Key frequency of one Sound to another. Doesnt it?

Each unit is laser engraved with the name of the recipient

From what I gathered, only a hundred or so were actually built and distributed…
It doesn’t seem to be a commercial product, does it ?

AFAIK “sound convolution” is the technique used by convolution-reverbs too and I stumbled over “convolution” some time ago at https://www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/a-z/bt-phobos/.

I would appreciate to see more of this … … seems to be a great sound design concept.

@LyingDalai Seems not to be commercially available  A little more info here http://daily.redbullmusicacademy.com/2018/09/the-granular-convolver

Maybe they will incorporate the idea in future products, looks like they had a few duff ones on the bench so maybe the design needs refinement?

It looks cool.

From how it’s presented it looks usable mostly for developing percussive patches- given it’s limited use, I wouldn’t see myself intending to pay more than $230 new for it-and even then, probably not follow through on the purchase.

Though the concept looks similar to the Sparkle iOS app(Check it out, it’s pretty interesting).

If you want a more manual approach to this process. Check out this.

pretty cool, cheaper and more likely to attain than the granular convolver
