OctaZip : Intelligent Octatrack Archiver

OctaZip is an intelligent archiving tool for use with Octatrack Sets and Projects. It provides Backup and Restore functionality whilst maintaining the referential integrity of both Source and Target Projects and associated Samples.

In essence OctaZip provides three core elements of functionality:

  • The ability to seamlessly backup Octatrack Projects, all applicable files, all associated Samples and Sample Settings, into a single archive.

  • The ability to seamlessly restore Octatrack Projects, all applicable files, and all associated Samples into a new Project, or existing Project, within an Octatrack Set; all whilst ensuring that existing files are not affected.

  • The ability to quickly and easily migrate entire Octatrack Projects from a source Octatrack Set to a Target Octatrack Set without having any concerns about Project, files, and Sample conflicts.

OctaZip has changed to a “donationware” model:

  • Either a donation to feed my two cats via PayPal.
  • Or make a donation to Médecins Sans Frontières
  • Or just be cheap and download it… :expressionless:

2 posts were merged into an existing topic: OctaEdit - Win/OSX Octatrack Software Editor

Despite being downloaded a few hundred times; I’ve not had any feedback from any users; so I am curious…

Anyone using OctaZip? Any feedback?

OctaZip Update

OctaZip is currently unavailable until further notice; and will potentially (probably) never come back.

For those interested in some basic stats etc.; here is a simple breakdown for the tracking I did (though the total number of downloads is probably higher.)

OctaZip was downloaded at least 768 times.

The below table shows [ Downloads | Downloads % | Price ]

And here is a pretty little chart with the above data / break down of sales

Crazy how much you worked, and how little was paid.
I hope karma will find and reward you properly.

Damn people suck. Thanks for making this, backing up projects as we speak.

weird, I was just wondering about backing up my projects this eve. I’d have bought this for full price without question if it was still available. (if it is again at any point lemme know, Rusty)

Those stats are shameful. :expressionless:

Is IOA the ticket for easy project compiling from many into one‽‽‽

The easiest and best way to merge Octatrack Projects together is with OctaEdit.

OctaEdit’s Manager module is built specifically for this task:

Disclaimer: I’m the developer of OctaEdit and OctaZip and MDEdit and Chainer and lots of other wonderful stuff and things. So I may be biased.

January 2024 here… Is it just me, or it’s not possible to download/buy it anymore? I know since they’re working on OctaEdit 2.0, v.1 is not possible to buy anymore… but is that involving also OctaZip? :frowning:
