Note Trig & Lock Trig on same step with separate trig conditions?

I am having trouble/wondering about using a lock trig with its own trig conditions on a step that contains a note trig already. When i press function + trig on a trig with a note trig, it just turns it into a regular lock trig.

The manual says “Lock trigs may be entered on any step of the sequencer, including ones that contains note trigs.”

What I want to do is have a lock trig that has the delay turned up but I want it to happen only once every 1:4 times. I still want the note to play each time though.

I apologize if this has been asked before but I read the manual and searched several threads.

Hi all Just working my way through the DN manual and it says this on p.28: 10.2.2 GRID RECORDING MODE GRID RECORDING is a method of composing where you use the [TRIG] keys to add trigs. Trigless trigs(yellow) may be entered onto note trigs but there is no advantage in doing so manualy, any adjustment you make to the trigless lock will pass straight through making it no more usefull than parameter locking the note trig.
