How to, Guide, Reference, Cheat Sheet, Tips, Tricks

You are absolutely right - this mixer is not for everyone and one can certainly have the same funtionality for less money. Needless to say that after having spent the money, I try to make it work … I would have preferred something with faders and lots of knobs but my count of required channels would take too much space on my desk. I guess the success of the OP-1 synths has something to do with its amazing size (for what it does). I also always admire people who make most of little. For example, watching Daypack Solo his videos, it is impressive to see what he can get out of one box (and it does not seem to matter what box he has in front of him). E.g. (lots more with various small boxes of different makers on his channel): http://youtu.be/IW5TVHo7aTQ

Yeah you absolutely right i have Dapayk Solo in Mind as his setup is explain here too and every video you can watch his sound is the same good idea and quality (but maybe sound is mastered a bit after the video take…) but anyway you join me on that truth you can buy anything, ideas is not buyable !!! and that’s the MOST IMPORTANT Piece of gear is idea and pleasure to experiment and make music… at some point looking for the perfect setup, the new gear from this namm then mess then namm… month pass, money pass and no record is released  :

With the justified excitement about the OS1.30, many of us will be experimenting with the new machines. The free New Blood soundpack is a fantastic source for inspiration. Copying kits across projects is somewhat cumbersome and I thought I do us a favor by summarizing the settings that are used in the soundpack. This resource of examples can be found [HERE (NOTE 200MB pdf file). The formatting is not pretty and I will do the polishing for inclusion of this in my [url=“https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8732611/Elektron/ElektronMusicProductionTips.pdf”]Notes](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8732611/Elektron/New Blood - Learning from Simon and Cenk.pdf). This will however take time but I feel that many of us are keen to play with the new machines a.s.a.p. Hope you find this summary of “Learning from Simon & Cenk” helpful.

UPDATE: Dropbox closed my public links and wants me to pay now for too many downloads. I had to create a new link on another server. Apologies for that. Here is the [NEW LINK to the pdf with the New Blood parameters. Still ugly formatting and now reduced resolution. I will make this nice and integrate this into my Notes. Unfortunately, they also bocked these. They can now be found [url=“http://www.informatik.uni-rostock.de/~ow/ElektronMusicProductionTips.pdf”]HERE](http://www.informatik.uni-rostock.de/~ow/New Blood - Learning from Simon and Cenk.pdf).

THANKS OLAF

Holy Moly. This is amazing. @Olaf_Wolkenhauer you have just provided me many lunch breaks with my head in these documents. Thank you! What dedication, I wonder if other manufacturers enjoy this sort of drive from their users. As a recent Elektron convert (RYTM - 2 weeks in and wow!) I haven’t seen it before. This thread is the perfect example of how great this community is.

Dear Lia and fellow Elektronauts

I am very sorry about the problems with the links. At some point Dropbox blocked me because of the high download traffic. I moved the files on my University server but at some point forgot about this.

The document that summarises everything can be found here:

Almost exactly one year ago I promised to turn this GoogleDoc into an eBook. Unfortunately, this venture did cost me lots of time and money … and failed. I purchased Adobe InDesign, paid someone to create a nice template. Just to prove the actual effort, here is an early version:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/qlywucfqm9md9ft/DO%20NOT%20USE%20THIS%20Elektron_Manual_20161025.pdf?dl=0

It took me forever to get Adobe InDesign installed, their expensive, subscription based license model being a pain in the arse. When they updated the programme, I run again into installation problems and when I purchased a new MacBookPro, I had no problems with any software, except Adobe. I then decided to abandon this project :frowning:

I started with a GoogleDoc, hoping one could do this as a collaborative effort with other Elektronauts but with the size of the material this became increasingly unlikely, which is why I now decided to create now a Word template. I have not given up bringing all this into a proper form and improving the text. I have found the Elektronauts forum very helpful and I am keen to give back.

For almost a year I did most of my music in Ableton and returning to my Elektron hardware setup will provide a good motivation to work on this again.

Kind regards
