How much memory left?

Hi!

Very simple question but for some reason I can find an answer.
How do you know how much memory you used and how much is remaining/left both in the sample pool and in a project?
That would help to define a strategy to manage samples.

Thanks.

Hey, just posted a similar question here.

Looks like there is no way to check free space on the +drive.
I have been filling the RYTM with samples for days and have been surprised I haven’t been able to fill it up yet!

Thanks virtual_flannel,

The memory for sample in the pool is 1GB…so not really unlimited
Well, let’s see…

I think it’s around three to four hours of sound.

The sample pool, aka the project RAM, is 64 megabytes. So that’s what you got to play around with. In time that’s 12 minutes at 16bit 48Khz mono.

On the +Drive there’s 1 gigabyte reserved for sample files that you need to load into the sample pool before using. In time that’s 3 hours and 3 minutes.

Damn! That’s a lot of sounds! Really like the way the +drive works.

Hey there. I’m doing some tests to see how much sampling time I get on my Rytm and 12 minutes at 16bit/48khz mono is showing 69.1MB in my experiments.

I’m getting 11:07 for 64MB .

Still, loads of time. Unfortunate that we have to break that up into a mere 127 sample slots. I’m about to dump all my single shot samples and import everything as sample chains.
