Guide to making your own cables

Hi,

I’ve just got the A4 and want to connect it to my M32. I understand that I need to breakout the stereo 1/4 connection to 3.5mm mono signals so I can use my regular patch cables into my moog.

The only isssue is I live in Egypt and these kind of cables don’t exist, ordering online will take ages and import tax will make it unbearably expensive.

I was wondering if there is a guide somewhere on making these cables, a video would be better since I’m dyslexic. What parts do I need for this and how difficult is it?

If you’re confident with a soldering iron it can be done relatively easily

A good start point would be to get a long mono 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, half it and then solder them to a 6.25mm TRS jack plug
2 x earth to TRS earth
one tip to TRS tip
one tip to TRS ring

Discussed a bit in this thread and in others

The Elektron connection kit is great too, if you give in and elect to buy
