I recently pruchased a (black!) Keystep which I want to use with my Digitone. How is the best way to connect both? Is the USB connection alone okay for MIDI and power supply? or do I need a PSU and a MIDI cable? I would like to keep it simple with as little cables as possible…

You cannot connect the keystep to the digitone via USB. You need to use a midi cable and thus the power supply to power the keystep.
Have fun 
I used this during summer for jamming in the garden. It will power both Digitone and Keystep for a few hours.
Add a MIDI cable and headphones and you’re good to go.
