Carrying bag for 2 Elektrons

I am looking for a carrying bag that fits 2 Elektron machines + a few extra smaller items. I will be lugging them around once a week and thought it would be nice with a somewhat practical and comfortable solution to this.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Thomann told me that you can carry 3 elektron units in their “Thomann Producer bag”

That one looks rather nice actually! Thanks for the tip!

If you’re going to be traveling, I recommend dropping a few bucks on a Pelican 1550 case. Holds two Elektrons and a few extras. Very protective and sturdy, even works as carryon luggage.

Pelican 1550 for sure. Very safe and secure. I’ve flown with them a few times and walk on with them as carry on. One time I was forced to check it due to full overheads, and I was not concerned at all. Throw a padlock or 2 on it and no worries. Sure, it’s not a backpack or anything, but these are not cheap toys either.

I have one of these and its ideal for 2 elektron boxes. I’m not sure a 3rd would fit tbh

I have not tested it myself  I could give it a try
But when you buy the “bundle” pack from Thomann with Machinedrum, then you get this bag incl.

Technically the 1550 isn’t carry-on. The 1510 is.
It can fit two elektrons (incl. if they’re in the Watson truss).

I’ve flown overseas with it, as carry on, (2 elektrons, a virus snow, all cables and PSUs.)

^Right you are, my mistake. The 1510 is the one I’ve got and described above, not the 1550. (really like the 1510’s wheels & handle btw)

The 1550 is barely larger than carry on specs. I’ve never had any issues. They fit perfectly in overheads.

The thomann bag looks perfect for my needs (shorter trips on the bus). For you that use this bag. Do you also use Elektrons protective plastic lids, to protect the encoders? Do i need those? What do you think?

BTW, thanks again for all the suggestions!

One more for thomman here

And still room for my lunch box and laptop

Is that the Producer Backpack suggested earlier? (http://www.thomann.de/dk/thomann_producer_backpack.htm) It looks very similar, but not identical.

it IS!

Someone above wrote that thomann suggests this bag for three elektron devices. This is crazy! It’s perfect for two elektron boxes, yes, but not for three!

The bag has some weak points, that can easily be fixed with shoogoo (which i buy at the nearest skateshop)

I don’t at the moment as I can’t justify spending £88 on 2 pieces of plastic. My kit is insured though
The Thomann bag has a padded ‘divider’ in the main compartment that is cushioned so the 2 elektrons arent bouncing into each other etc. I’d definitely be wary of letting baggage handlers throw it around though, definitely only stick it above the seats if you’re flying!

Yep thats it. It’s nice. Zipps are a bit shoddy but I fixed my dodgy one with a pair of pliers no problems. It’s cheap as. The divider padding is great as mentioned.

Some pics of pelican 1550 in use. I really like these as they also provide a “platform” while performing.

That Producer bag looks awesome. Do they sell those in the states? They’re cheaper than the Elektron bags, maybe i can trade =o]

I think they do international delivery you just have to pay import tax http://www.thomann.de/gb/faq_2_4144.html

I ended up buying one. I can definitely recommend it. A really solid bag for not being that expensive. I just hope it has good quality zippers since that usually is a weak point.
